St. Louis, MO – Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Matt Garza left Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals following the third inning.
Garza, whose name has been mentioned in trade rumors leading up to the July 31 deadline, left due to cramping in his right triceps. He had X-rays taken, but the results were negative.
The right-hander needed just 33 pitches to get through three scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and walked a pair with three strikeouts.
On the season, the 28-year-old Garza is 5-7 with a 3.91 earned run average in 18 starts.
