Chargers release DE Castillo

The San Diego Chargers released veteran defensive end Luis Castillo Thursday.

Castillo has spent his entire seven-year career with San Diego after the team selected him in the first round of the 2005 draft.

He has played in 82 games with the Chargers, but was limited to just one contest last year because of a fractured left tibia suffered in the opening game of the season.

The 28-year-old has career totals of 210 tackles, 19 sacks and two interceptions.
