Atlanta, GA – The San Francisco Giants placed catcher Hector Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list and recalled catcher Eli Whiteside from Triple-A Fresno.
Sanchez left Tuesday's game against the Braves with a sprained left knee. He hit a single in the fourth inning before coming out.
In 39 games this season, Sanchez is hitting .281 with two homers and 24 RBI.
Whiteside was batting .241 with one home run and 15 RBI in 47 games for Fresno this year. He hit just .197 in 82 contests for the Giants last season.
