Twente midfielder Luuk de Jong completed a move to Monchengladbach on Wednesday after weeks of negotiations.
De Jong passed a medical on Tuesday night and the move was confirmed on Wednesday, with the Netherlands international joining the Bundesliga side on a five-year contract.
"We are really delighted that this transfer has finally gone through," Gladbach's director of sport Max Eberl said.
"With Luuk de Jong, we are getting a highly-talented attacker who, despite being only 21, already has a wealth of experience in Europe with FC Twente and the Dutch national team."
Newcastle was also reported to be interested in De Jong, who netted 39 goals in 75 matches for Twente over the past two seasons.
