KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (Sports Network) - Caroline Masson closed with a 1-under 71 on Sunday to win the South African Women's Open by a single stroke.

Masson finished at 1-under-par 215 at Selborne Park Golf Club for her first win on the Ladies European Tour.

Lee-Anne Pace (70) and Danielle Montgomery (72) tied for second at even-par 216. Montgomery shared the second-round lead with Masson, Ashleigh Simon and Joanna Klatten.

Klatten (73) ended alongside Tandi Cunningham (70) in fourth at plus-1.

Masson had a steady round in tough conditions. After a pair of pars, she converted a birdie effort on the par-5 third. Masson parred the final 15 holes to hang on for the win.

Simon struggled to a 2-over 74 to end in a share of sixth place at 2-over 218.
