Oakland, CA – The Oakland Athletics released pitcher Brian Fuentes on Wednesday.

Fuentes, 36, was designated for assignment on July 3.

The 12-year veteran was 2-2 with five saves, three blown saves, and a 6.84 ERA in 26 relief appearances with the A's this season.

Fuentes has 204 saves and a 3.58 ERA in 644 career appearances with the Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Minnesota Twins and the A's.
