Los Angeles, CA – Nonito Donaire defeated Jeffrey Mathebula by unanimous decision on Saturday to become the unified super bantamweight champ.
Donaire (29-1), who landed 102-of-159 power punches, now holds the WBO and IBF super bantamweight titles. The judges ruled in his favor: 117-110, 118-109, and 119-108.
A right hand by Donaire cracked the tooth of Mathebula (26-3-2) in the 11th round.
