Corinthians became the third straight Brazilian club to win the Copa Libertadores title, edging Argentina's Boca Juniors in a 2-0 win at New Corinthians Stadium on Wednesday to keep the title in the Samba nation.

Internacional won the competition in 2010 before Santos came out on top in 2011, and Corinthians continued Brazil's winning tradition in the tournament with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Boca Juniors.

After a 1-1 draw in the opening leg, Emerson bagged a second-half brace in the return match with goals in the 53rd and 72nd minutes to power Corinthians to its first Copa Libertadores title in club history.

Corinthians will now turn its attention to the Brasileiro season as last year's league champions sit second from bottom with just four points from six games.
