The Ottawa Senators signed forward Guillaume Latendresse to a one-year deal and traded forward Nick Foligno to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenseman Marc Methot on Sunday.

Latendresse, 25, only played in 27 games over the past two seasons because of varying injuries, including a concussion that kept him sidelined for most of last season.

In 2009-10, Latendresse had a break-out year after being traded to the Minnesota Wild. After only scoring two goals in 23 games with the Canadiens, Latendresse exploded for 25 goals in 55 games with the Wild after a mid-season trade.

In six years with the Canadiens and Wild, Latendresse has scored 81 goals and set up 56 others in 314 games.

Foligno, 24, scored 15 goals and had a career-best 47 points for the Sens last season. In five years with the club, Foligno potted 61 goals and dished out 87 assists.

Methot had one goal and six assists for Columbus last season and was a minus-11 for the league's worst team. The 27-year-old Methot has appeared in 275 games in his career, all with the Blue Jackets, and has scored seven goals and added 44 assists. He is also a minus-six.
