The Utah Jazz exercised the 2012-13 contract option on guard Jamaal Tinsley on Friday.

The nine-year pro played in 37 games for the Jazz last season and averaged 3.7 points, 1.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

For his career, which included seven seasons with Indiana and one with Memphis, he has averaged 9.3 points, 6.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 473 games.

Also, the team tendered a qualifying offer to forward Jeremy Evans.

The 2012 Slam Dunk champion has played in 78 games over his two seasons in the NBA, both with Utah, and has averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds.
