Rangers re-sign G Biron

The New York Rangers agreed to terms with goaltender Martin Biron on Friday.

The deal is for two years, according to Biron's Twitter account.

Biron, who will turn 35 before the 2012-13 season, has served as Henrik Lundqvist's backup the last two seasons.

Last season, Biron was 12-6-2 with a 2.46 goals against average and a .904 save percentage in 21 games, which included 20 starts.

In his career, the 14-year veteran has a 2.61 GAA and a .911 save percentage with the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and New York Rangers.
