Austin Dillon had the hottest hand on a hot track.

Dillon won the pole for Friday night’s Feed the Children 300 Nationwide Series race Friday afternoon on the blistering surface at Kentucky Speedway.

Dillon had a fast lap of 172.199 miles per hour and was the only driver over the 172 mark. Kevin Harvick was a distant second at 171.401.

Completing the top five were Brad Keselowski, Sam Hornish and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

In the second five were Denny Hamlin, Justin Allgaier, Kurt Busch, Michael Annett and Cole Whitt.
