Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Braves have placed pitcher Brandon Beachy on the 15-day disabled list.
Beachy left Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles with right elbow soreness. He will have an MRI to further evaluate the extent of the injury.
Beachy was perfect through 3 2/3 innings before a six-pitch walk to Chris Davis. He exited following the free pass and Anthony Varvaro allowed a two- run, bases-loaded single to Mark Reynolds later in the frame.
In 13 starts this season, Beachy is 5-5 with a 2.00 ERA.
The Braves recalled pitcher Todd Redmond from Triple-A Gwinnett. He was 6-4 with a 3.20 earned run average in 13 starts for Gwinnett.
