Wickmayer, Pervak land in Bad Gastein semis

Second-seeded Yanina Wickmayer and third seed Ksenia Pervak reached the semifinals at the Gastein Ladies clay-court tennis event.

The Belgian Wickmayer whipped Austria's Yvonne Meusburger 6-3, 6-2, while Pervak pasted 19-year-old American qualifier Chichi Scholl 6-4, 6-1. Wickmayer doused last year's Bad Gastein runner-up Patricia Mayr-Achleitner here on Thursday and the 2007 runner-up Meusburger on Friday at Hotel Europaischerhof.

Meanwhile, seventh-seeded Frenchwoman Alize Cornet whipped Spaniard Estrella Cabeza Candela 6-1, 6-2 and Luxembourg's Mandy Minella overcame and upset eighth-seeded Swede Johanna Larsson 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Saturday's semis will pit Wickmayer against Minella and Pervak versus Cornet.

The 2012 Bad Gastein champion will claim $37,000.
