The San Francisco Giants activated third baseman Pablo Sandoval from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.

The 25-year-old had surgery on May 4 to repair a broken hamate bone in his right hand.

Sandoval set a Giants record by recording a hit in each of his first 20 games this season and is batting .316 with five homers and 15 runs batted in.

In addition, the Giants optioned first baseman Brett Pill and pitcher Steve Edlefsen to Triple-A Fresno while recalling pitcher George Kontos from the minor league club.
