White Sox place Fukudome on DL

The Chicago White Sox have placed outfielder Kosuke Fukudome on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 4, with a strained right oblique.

Fukudome is hitting just .171 with four RBI in 24 games this season. He signed with the White Sox as a free agent on February 14.

Chicago also purchased the contract of outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte.

Danks, the younger brother of White Sox pitcher John Danks, was batting .302 with 15 doubles, eight home runs, 28 RBI and 32 runs scored in 57 games with Charlotte this year.
