Bronx, NY – The Tampa Bay Rays activated left fielder Desmond Jennings from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Jennings has been out since May 11 with a sprained left knee. He is batting .265 with three homers and 11 RBI in 31 games this season.
To make room on the roster, the Rays optioned outfielder Rich Thompson to Triple-A Durham.
Thompson appeared in eight games with the parent club this season and collected one hit in 16 at bats.
