Chiefs sign Elam

The Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent safety Abram Elam on Monday.

Per club policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Elam spent 2011 in Dallas, his second career stint with the Cowboys, totaling 68 tackles and one forced fumble in 16 games.

A south Florida native and Kent State product, Elam has racked up 374 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions (one returned for a TD) over 92 games with Dallas, the Jets and Cleveland since 2006.
