Tijuana, Mexico –  Moises Fuentes retained his WBO minimumweight title with a first-round knockout of Julio Cesar Felix Saturday night.

Fuentes (15-1, 7 KOs) knocked Felix (17-4) down twice in the round and the bout was finished with 44 seconds left in the round.

It was the first title defense for Fuentes.
