Mike Baxter, who crashed into the left field wall to make a catch that saved Johan Santana's no-hitter for the New York Mets, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday.

Baxter suffered a displaced right collarbone and fractured rib cartilage next to the sternum when he went nearly full speed into the wall on Friday to snare a deep line drive hit by Yadier Molina in the seventh inning, helping preserve what was the first no-hitter in franchise history.

He suffered injuries to the right side of his body even though it was his left shoulder that crashed into the padded wall. He is batting .323 in 40 games for the Mets this season.

The Mets called up infielder Josh Satin from Triple-A Buffalo to fill Baxter's spot.
