Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Juan Nicasio left Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second inning with a strained left knee.

With two outs in the inning and runners on second and third, Nicasio threw a pitch to Dodgers third baseman Elian Herrera which was hit back up the middle.

Nicasio contorted his body to get out of the way of the ball and twisted his knee on the play. He took a few hops off the mound and walked gingerly off the field under his own power.

He was charged with three runs -- two earned -- on four hits and a walk before leaving the game. Josh Roenicke took over on the mound.
