Miami Beach, FL –  New York Knicks swingman J.R. Smith was arrested Thursday night in Miami Beach on a bench warrant for not having a valid driver's license.

According to police, Smith was stopped on Washington Avenue. The invalid license was discovered and he was taken to county jail before being released on bond.

Smith joined the Knicks in February after starting the lockout-shortened season in China. He averaged 12.5 points in 35 games.
