The Arizona Diamondbacks activated outfielder Chris Young from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and optioned outfielder A.J. Pollock to Triple-A Reno.

Young landed on the DL with a right shoulder contusion on April 18. He injured himself a day earlier when he made a spectacular catch in a full sprint in left-center field before his momentum sent him crashing into the wall.

The 28-year-old Texas native went 4-for-15 and drove in eight runs in four combined rehabilitation games with Single-A Visalia and Reno.

Young is batting .410 over 11 games this season for the Diamondbacks with five homers and 13 runs batted in.

Pollock made his major league debut after having his contract purchased from the Aces last month. In 20 games with Arizona, Pollock hit .229 with four RBI.
