Los Angeles, CA – The St. Louis Cardinals placed outfielder/first baseman Allen Craig and pitcher Kyle McClellan on the 15-day disabled list Friday.
Craig is hampered by a left hamstring strain, while a right elbow strain has shelved McClellan.
Craig missed the first month of the season recovering from knee surgery. He was batting .373 over 13 games with five homers and 19 runs batted in.
McClellan has made 16 relief appearances this year, going 0-1 with a 5.30 earned run average.
To fill the roster spots, the Cardinals recalled outfielder Adron Chambers and pitcher Brandon Dickson from Triple-A Memphis.
