Wolves' Pekovic undergoes surgery

Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic underwent surgery Tuesday to have bone spurs removed from his right ankle.

Pekovic missed eight games this season because of the issue. He averaged 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds in 47 games for the Wolves.

The 6-foot-11 center finished third in the voting for the NBA's Most Improved Player award.
