Indians DFA reliever Wheeler

Minneapolis, MN – The Cleveland Indians designated reliever Dan Wheeler for assignment Monday.

The right-hander, who signed with the Indians in January, has an 8.76 earned run average in 12 appearances this season with two strikeouts and seven walks in 12 1/3 innings.

The Indians, in Minneapolis to play the Twins, called up righty Jeremy Accardo from Triple-A Columbus. Accardo has an 0-2 record with a 2.76 ERA and four saves in 13 games for the Clippers this season.
