Phoenix, AZ –  The San Francisco Giants activated pitcher Jeremy Affeldt from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.

Affeldt last pitched on April 27 when he surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings before being placed on the DL one day later with a right knee sprain.

The Giants also recalled infielder Charlie Culberson, who is slated to make his major league debut on Sunday when he starts at second base. The former first-round pick was batting .284 with five homers and 24 runs batted in over 36 games with Triple-A Fresno.

To make room on the roster, San Francisco designated left-hander Travis Blackley for assignment and optioned infielder Conor Gillaspie to Fresno.
