Pirates place Hanrahan on bereavement list

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed closer Joel Hanrahan on the bereavement list.

Hanrahan is 1-0 with six saves and a 4.22 earned run average in 11 games this season.

Pittsburgh also recalled pitcher Daniel McCutchen from Triple-A Indianapolis. He went 5-3 with a 3.72 ERA in 73 appearances for the Pirates in 2011.
