The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder/first baseman Juan Rivera on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring Wednesday.
Rivera has appeared in 25 games for the Dodgers this season, batting .247 with two home runs and 13 RBI.
Los Angeles recalled outfielder/first baseman Scott Van Slyke from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill the roster spot.
Van Slyke has a .336 average with nine doubles, eight home runs and 25 runs batted in for Albuquerque this season.
He has yet to appear in an MLB game.
