The Minnesota Vikings released 15-year veteran kicker Ryan Longwell Monday.

Longwell has spent the last six seasons with the Vikings after playing the previous nine years with the Green Bay Packers.

The 37-year-old connected on 135-of-157 field-goal attempts and 228-of-233 extra points for Minnesota, giving him 633 points to make him the Vikings' third all-time leading scorer.

"Ryan has meant a great deal to the Vikings organization both on and off field over the past six seasons," Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said. "We wish him all the best in the future and thank him for his service to the Minnesota Vikings."

Longwell is the Packers' all-time leading scorer with 1,054 points, going 226- for-277 on field goals and 376-for-380 on extra-point attempts in his time with the team.
