Hibernian emphatically secured its safety on Monday with a comfortable 4-0 win over Dunfermline, which has now been assured of being relegated.

Dunfermline had to win Monday's match to have any hope of staying up next season, but things went wrong early on as Matthew Doherty scored after five minutes for Hibs before Eoin Doyle doubled the advantage in the 11th minute.

The lead was stretched to 3-0 a few minutes later when Paul Hanlon was fouled inside the penalty area by Austin McCann, allowing Garry O'Connor to fire home the third goal for Hibs from the spot.

There was no way back for Dunfermline after that and the hosts added a fourth goal in the final 10 minutes from Hanlon.
