Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has signed a contract extension.

Terms were not disclosed, but the Buffalo News reported it to be a two-year deal that will keep him with the club through 2014. He was entering the final season of a four-year deal he signed in May of 2009.

Jackson appeared in 10 games for the Bills last season and had rushed for 934 yards with a 5.5-yard average before suffering a fractured fibula in November. He added 39 catches for 442 yards, and his 1,376 yards from scrimmage trailed only Chicago's Matt Forte at the time of his injury.

The 31-year-old veteran from Coe College has spent each of his five NFL seasons with the Bills. He has rushed for 3,794 yards in 66 games, including 38 starts. His best season was 2009 when he ran for 1,062 yards.
