Sun-Ju Ahn birdied the first playoff hole Sunday to successfully defend her title at the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup, a major on the LPGA of Japan.
Ahn rolled in a six-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole, the 18th at the Ibaraki Golf Club West. She defeated Inbee Park and second-round leader and 2010 champion Morgan Pressel.
Ahn, the ninth-ranked player in the world, birdied the 18th Sunday for an even-par 72. Park fired a four-under 68, while Pressel struggled to a three- over 75.
The trio finished regulation at eight-under 208.
Sunday's victory was Ahn's third on the LPGA of Japan and she is now atop the tour's money list.
Shanshan Feng shot a 72 in the final round and finished fourth at minus-seven.
Mi-Jeong Jeon (74) and Jiyai Shin (75) tied for fifth at six-under par.
Due to inclement weather on Thursday, the tournament was reduced to 54 holes.
