The Texas Rangers on Friday acquired outfielder Ryan Spilborghs from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for cash considerations.

Spilborghs has been assigned to the Rangers' Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express.

A non-roster invitee to spring training, the 32-year-old Spilborghs did not play a game for the Indians. He batted .250 and drove in 13 runs with Cleveland's Triple-A club in Columbus, Ohio.

Spilborghs has appeared in 619 games at the major league level, all with the Colorado Rockies from 2005-11. He is a career .272 hitter with 42 home runs and 218 RBI.
