FC Dallas signed midfielder James Marcelin on Friday.
The 25-year-old Marcelin played 12 games for the Portland Timbers last season. The Haitian international spent the previous season with Portland before it joined MLS, and the two seasons prior to that with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
"We've had James training with us for three or four days and we like some of the things he does," said FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman. "He's athletic, technically sound and keeps the ball. I think for our team, where we are today with the recent injury to Bobby (Warshaw), he's a nice addition."
Warshaw suffered a fractured foot earlier this week, and required surgery that will sideline him for an extended period.
Per league and team policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
