Rockies option P Chacin to Triple-A

Denver, CO – The Colorado Rockies have optioned right-handed pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to Triple-A Colorado Springs after an 0-3 start.

The Rockies announced the demotion after Wednesday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers and will make a corresponding roster move Friday.

Chacin's ERA ballooned to 7.30 in five starts after he gave up seven runs and 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.
