Fernando Llorente scored the series-winner in the 87th minute, lifting Athletic Bilbao to a 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon on Thursday and a 4-3 aggregate win in the Europa League semifinals.
Sporting won the first leg in Portugal, 2-1, but Markel Susaeta and Ibai Gomez also scored at the San Mames, around a goal from Ricky van Wolfswinkel, as the hosts escaped with the aggregate win to set up an all-Spanish final.
Bilbao will play Atletico Madrid, which completed a 5-2 aggregate victory over a third Spanish semifinalist, Valencia.
Adrian scored in the 59th minute as Atletico Madrid edged Valencia, 1-0, to wrap up its semifinal victory. Atletico won the first leg at home, 4-2.
Adrian drove a beautiful half-volley into the net for the lone goal in the second leg in Valencia, but Atletico lost Tiago to a red card, meaning he will miss the final in Bucharest, Romania on May 9.
