The first pitch at the brand-new Marlins Park was thrown by none other than The People's Champion, Muhammad Ali.

Ali, who won his first world heavyweight title in Miami, was greeted by chants of "Ali! Ali!" from the sellout crowd at Marlins Park as he was driven to the mound on a cart with Marlins owner Jeffery Loria.

Unable to physically throw the pitch himself due to Parkinson's disease, Ali then handed the game ball to Miami third baseman Hanley Ramirez.
