The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Franklin Gutierrez and catcher Adam Moore on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 24 on Tuesday.

Gutierrez suffered a partial tear of his right pectoral muscle making a throw during a fielding drill on February 28 and is being treated non-surgically.

The 29-year-old appeared in 92 games for Seattle last season, carrying a .224 batting average with 13 doubles, 19 RBI and 13 stolen bases.

Moore is recovering from a fracture of his third metacarpal in his right wrist after blocking a ball in a March 6 spring training game. He has played in 68 career games over the past three seasons with the Mariners, batting .197 with five home runs and 17 RBI.
