Luongo, Canucks slip past Kings

Roberto Luongo posted 38 saves to record his fourth shutout of the season and 59th of his career as the Vancouver Canucks slipped past the Los Angeles Kings by the slimmest of margins, 1-0, on Monday at Rogers Arena.

Manny Malhotra scored the only goal of the game with assists from Max Lapierre and Alexander Edler for the Canucks, who have won three straight games.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all good news for Vancouver, as head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed the star forward Daniel Sedin has a concussion after taking an elbow to the head from Blackhawks' defenseman Duncan Keith last week.

Vancouver tightened it's hold on second place in the Western Conference with 101 points, and are two back of the St. Louis Blues for the top spot in the West with six games remaining on the regular-season schedule.

Jonathan Quick was the hard-luck loser, as he stopped 24-of-25 shots for the Kings, who are even in points with San Jose, but hold the ninth spot in the West by way of a tiebreaker.
