Georgetown junior forward Hollis Thompson will forego his final year of eligibility to enter the NBA Draft, the school said Tuesday.
Thompson also declared for the draft last year but did not hire an agent to protect his eligibility. He plans to hire an agent this year.
Georgetown coach John Thompson III said he "fully anticipated" Thompson would enter the draft after this season.
"He is an extremely hard worker and we wish him the best as he takes his next step," the coach said in a statement.
Thompson, listed as 6-foot-8 and 212 pounds, started all 33 games for the Hoyas this past season and averaged 12.8 points and 5.5 rebounds while leading the Big East in three-point shooting at 43 percent. He appeared in all 34 games as a freshman and started 22 of 32 games for Georgetown as a sophomore.
In his last game, Thompson scored 23 points in a 66-63 loss to NC State in the NCAA Tournament.
