Braga took advantage of stumbles by FC Porto and Benfica over the weekend to move to the top of the league by beating Academica, 2-1, on Monday.

Benfica was held to a 0-0 draw at Olhanense on Friday before FC Porto finished in a 1-1 deadlock at Pacos Ferreira, paving the way for Braga to jump ahead.

And the club took advantage with first-half goals from Mossoro and Lima to take a two-goal lead at halftime.

Academica pulled one back in the 62nd minute through David Simao, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 13th straight win for Braga, which sits one point clear of Porto and two above Benfica.

Also on Monday, Maritimo kept hold of fourth place by securing a 3-2 win over Gil Vicente after Christian Pouga scored the winning goal in the 86th minute.

Sunday's results saw Claudemir score a pair of goals from the penalty spot as Nacional topped Beira Mar, 3-0, Setubal beat Uniao Leiria 1-0 on a goal from Miguelito three minutes into the match, while Edgar netted the lone goal for Guimaraes in a 1-0 victory at Rio Ave.

The lone contest on Saturday saw Sporting Lisbon top Feirense, 1-0, on a first-half penalty kick from Diego Capel.
