Agadir, Morocco – Damien McGrane birdied the 10th hole of his third round Saturday and that would be enough to take the lead during the suspended third round of the Trophee Hassan.
McGrane's birdie at 10 got him to 12-under par and inched him one clear. That was the final hole he played Saturday as play was called for the day due to darkness.
A five-and-a-half-hour wind delay on Friday set the tournament back a bit. The second round was completed Saturday morning, then the cut was made and the third round started.
Several golfers finished their third rounds on Saturday, but McGrane, who took the second-round lead on Saturday, will have eight holes to complete.
Barring any more weather problems, the tournament should end on Sunday.
McGrane is one-under par in his third round.
Matteo Manassero, who needs a big finish to move into the top 50 of the world rankings and qualify for the Masters in two weeks, is six-under through 15 holes of round three.
The Italian teenager is tied for second place with Jose Manuel Lara, who is two-under par and playing with McGrane and Phillip Price in the final threesome.
The pair is 11-under par.
Michael Hoey shot a seven-under 65 on Saturday and is the clubhouse leader at 10-under 206.
Mikko Ilonen posted a six-under 66 in his third round is part of a group tied for fifth at nine-under par. Joel Sjoholm and Price are both nine-under and will be back Sunday morning to polish off the third round.
