Atlanta, GA – Quincy Acy had 20 points and 15 rebounds Friday night and Baylor held on for a 75-70 win over Xavier in the Sweet 16.
Baylor (30-7) led wire-to-wire, but had to fend off a run by Xavier (23-13) late in the first half and a deep three-pointer by Tu Holloway that made it a three-point game with 22.3 seconds left.
Baylor advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time in three years and will play either Kentucky or Indiana in the South Region final Sunday with a trip to the Final Four on the line.
The top-seeded Wildcats and fourth-seeded Hoosiers were playing the late game at the Georgia Dome.
