The Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday recalled netminder Ty Conklin from their AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids.
He is expected to start in net later tonight against the Rangers.
The 11-year NHL veteran was assigned to Grand Rapids on February 21 after posting a 3-5-0 record with a 3.40 goals against average in 11 contests with Detroit this season, his second stint with the club. He recorded a 25-11-2 mark with a 2.51 GAA with the Red Wings in the 2008-09 campaign.
Over 211 games with Detroit, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Columbus and Edmonton, the 35-year-old New Hampshire product has a 94-66-20 record with a 2.68 GAA and 17 shutouts.
