Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov set a new Philadelphia Flyers franchise record for longest scoreless streak on Thursday against the New York Islanders.

Coming into the contest, Bryzgalov's streak stood at 196 minutes, 13 seconds. He officially attained the honor at the 11:28 mark of the second period, and through 40 minutes of action, has not allowed a goal in a span of 236 minutes, 13 seconds.

The current run began in the late stages of a 3-2 win over Detroit on March 6 and has included three shutouts in three non-consecutive starts.

The original club record was set by John Vanbiesbrouck, who went 227:40 without allowing a goal from October 17-26, 1999 -- a run which included three shutouts in three consecutive starts.
