The Cleveland Browns re-signed offensive lineman Oniel Cousins and tight end Alex Smith on Thursday.

Smith has played the past two seasons with the Browns and in 2011 he had 14 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown in 14 games.

Since coming into the league in 2005, he has appeared in 90 games with 53 starts with Cleveland, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. He has 147 catches for 1,414 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Cousins has appeared in 29 games over the past four seasons with Baltimore and Cleveland, starting five of those contests.

Also, the team announced that defensive lineman Brian Schaefering has signed his tender as an exclusive rights player.
