Chiefs ink RB Hillis

The Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday signed free agent running back Peyton Hillis.

Hillis, who has spent the past two seasons in Cleveland, reunites with former Browns offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, now in the same position with Kansas City.

The Arkansas product had his best season under Daboll's guidance in 2010, rushing for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns on 270 touches while catching 61 passes for 477 yards and two TDs, all career-highs.

In four seasons with Denver and Cleveland, the 26-year-old Hillis has rushed for 2,161 yards and 20 scores on 512 carries, and has added 101 receptions for 805 yards and three touchdowns.
