Patrick Kane netted the lone goal in the 3 decision over St. Louis at United Center.
Kane managed to slide a backhander between the pads of Jaroslav Halak to open the shootout. Corey Crawford then stopped T.J. Oshie, Andy McDonald and David Perron to cap the win.
Andrew Brunette, Viktor Stalberg and Brent Seabrook tallied in regulation for the Blackhawks, winners in four of six.
Ray Emery started in net, but was removed after allowing three goals on six shots in the first period. Crawford ended with 18 stops through the final 45 minutes of regulation and overtime.
Jamie Langenbrunner, McDonald and Patrik Berglund scored for the Blues, whose five-game win streak came to an end.
Halak played well in defeat, making 43 saves.
