Cagliari, Italy – Cagliari announced on Monday that Massimo Ficcadenti has returned to take charge of the club only four months after he was fired.
Davide Ballardini was sacked following Friday's 6-3 defeat against Napoli, with Ficcadenti becoming the fourth manager at Cagliari in the past eight months.
The club has lost its last three games to slip to 17th place in Serie A, six points above the drop zone.
Ballardini managed to win only four of his 17 games in charge of the club, forcing Cagliari to call once again on Ficcadenti, who took over on the eve of the season for Roberto Donadoni and was fired in November.
